Our Story
Why did we create this webpage?
The journey of Google Snake modding has been quite an adventure, filled with innovation, setbacks, and remarkable community resilience.
The Golden Age of Bookmarklets
The first Snake mods were created using bookmarklets, which were incredibly easy to use and became extremely popular. The popularity of Snake modding during this era cannot be overstated - the bookmarklet for "More Menu Mod" alone was downloaded over 1 million times!
February 2023: Crisis Strikes
Disaster struck when all bookmarklets suddenly stopped working due to technical reasons. This was a devastating blow to the Snake modding community that had grown to rely on these simple, accessible tools.
March 2023: The Community Recovers
Despite the setback, the Google Snake modding community proved its resilience. Almost exactly one month after the mods broke, the community developed a new solution: Google Snake Mod Loader was born.
While this new loader addressed the bookmarklet issues and offered several advantages, it came with a significant drawback - it was more complex to install, requiring users to download an extension (usually Tampermonkey) and install a userscript. This added complexity created a barrier for many casual players.
A New Hope
Several months later, a glimmer of hope emerged. A new community member named "revenge" joined the Google Snake Discord, asking for help getting the Google Snake Mod Loader to work on a standalone webpage. This simple question kickstarted the development of the site you're using right now!

What started as a simple idea to create a web version of Snake mods has evolved into something much greater. Our platform now goes beyond the original ambitions:
